Gardening with California Native Plants

California native plants may be used in virtually all garden designs and situations, and support native birds and insects.

Once established, and with an appropriate layer of mulch, many natives need little or no watering.

Tour with the Echoes Explorer mobile app at the Greenway or listen now.

These native birds and insects use the Greenway’s native plants for food and shelter

Which native plants would work for you?  The California Native Plant Society’s website has plant pictures and descriptions, landscaping information (climate, sun, soil, moisture, watering), wildlife supported, and nurseries where they are available.
